Agel Follows Hard on the Heels of MonaVie

Ho-hum. Here we go again. Another nutritional product hits the already
overcrowded MLM with claims for health and vitality. And the marketing scheme is
wide open for anyone to carve out his or her dynasty in the field and obtain
incredible wealth in a short amount of time. It all sounds too familiar, but
wait! Does Agel really offer
something different? Maybe there is a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow?
Utilizing “super fruit” juices of the mangosteen, acai berry, aloe vera,
and other exotic fruits, Agel combines these juices into a healthy, easily
ingested gel form that contains antioxidants and phytonutrients for cellular
health and disease prevention. Convincing studies indicate that nutrients in a
gel form are more readily absorbed into the digestive tract.
The
marketing plan is binary, which means that an Independent Distributor must
sponsor 2 recruits, creating a right leg and a left leg. A First Order Bonus is
given when the new Distributors order their commissionable volume. The amount of
bonus awarded is anywhere from $35 to $200, depending on the amount of
commissionable volume ordered. From there on, an active, qualified Distributor
will continue to make commissions on his or her short leg, as long as that leg
meets minimum monthly volume.
The product, the marketing plan and the
incentives are similar to other MLM companies that have been successful. Agel started in March, 2005, and had
300 Distributors its first year. It will have to kick it up more, if it is going
to reach MonaVie’s 1.8 million sales force, with $2.2 billion yearly sales.
Is MLM ready for one more nutritional supplement? Why not?
